This song is a combination of Finnish traditional melodies. The singers want to go into the forest and they ask the spirit of the forest to give them good luck with hunting. This arrangement was originally written for Vivace Chamber choir to be combined with folk dance choreography.
Mieli mennä metsolahan pohjaa kalevalaisiin runomelodioihin. Laulu ylistää metsää ja sisältää myös seesteisemmän väliosan jossa pyydetään metsän kuninkaalta onnea ja menestystä. Laulu on alunperin sovitettu Kamarikuoro Vivacelle.
